Who are we?

Norrköping's recreation centers are part of the growth and development office, and our mission is to create a safe and health-promoting environment for children and young people. We complement the school's work by offering various learning situations that promote the knowledge development of children and youth. We harness and promote the creativity, needs, and personal interests of our visitors.

Together with community organizations, nearby schools, civil society, and businesses, we develop Norrköping's recreation centers to create joy, community, and meaningful leisure. This contributes to increasing Norrköping's attractiveness and thus strengthens Norrköping as a place to live and visit.

Klockets recreation center is located in the heart of the area and serves ages 10–19, daily from Monday to Saturday, and also collaborates for all ages during special activities that we organize together in the area.

Klockaretorpet is an area with mixed buildings and many green spaces with several opportunities. The area has a tradition of collaboration, and we are part of the Knowledge House collaboration as a partner. Collaboration occurs with a number of actors, and we are in constant development. Together, we have access to several nearby facilities that we can use, as well as our own recreation facility that serves as a starting point for our own activities. This facility is set to be expanded and is just in the starting phase for that.

We strive to support the young people who come to us—by being guides, creating meaningful activities together with the youth, or simply being there as support for them in their identity search and desire to pursue their interests.

We are now looking for an experienced recreation center manager who is passionate about working with children and youth!

Your responsibilities

As a recreation center manager, you have overall responsibility for the operation and lead a team of five employees. You work closely with the school and other partners to create meaningful leisure for children and youth.

Your role includes planning and following up on operations, as well as being responsible for staff and scheduling. In addition to administrative work, you are also involved in daily activities with the children and youth.

You drive the development work forward in collaboration with youth, guardians, schools, and other actors, as well as the annual goal-oriented planned activities in your own work group as well as part of Norrköping's recreation centers.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with at least a folk high school education as a leisure leader, or another relevant pedagogical university education of at least 2 years.

You have previous experience working with children and youth in open activities. You have knowledge of various issues related to youth and have collaborated with schools and other relevant actors.

In addition, you bring leadership experience from previous work in a supervisory role, where you have been responsible for coordinating, supporting, and leading colleagues in daily work.

As a person, you are collaborative and contribute to group processes with colleagues. In your role as a leader, you encourage teamwork where you can bring the group together to achieve results.

You are results-oriented and work towards set goals and objectives. You prioritize tasks effectively based on urgency and importance and can organize information and resources.

As a person, you are creative and innovative in your way of working, and you come up with new ideas and suggest solutions to problems. You can adapt your language based on the audience and communicate so that everyone understands.

You are receptive to change, as you have a flexible approach and can adapt to new situations and working methods.
